Types of verbal abuse, what they say:

Apple will only last as long as people keep thinking they need pointless crap. Luckily for Apple, people are mostly stupid.

To hell with them, that's what I say. iTunes is rather useful but everything else is overpriced and evil.

I really wish they would... I was doing my happy dance when their stock plummeted today. Though certainly the iPhone 6 will fix all of this. It'll be loaded with great features that Android Phones already had for 8 months...

It seems like every time I pull out my iPad or MacBook (no one really says anything about the iPhone any more), someone says "I hate Apple." It's annoying, yes I get you don't like them and I can understand why, I have some frustrations too, but no reason to complain about the products I bought. My money, I'll buy what's best for me. I learned to just ignore it.

I swear you wrote somewhere that you'd received verbal abuse... I swear I saw that somewhere... Must've just imagined it...

Like, even if I'm using Siri or whatever I just can't put up with the apathy that people display whenever I'm using my phone.

Apathy means disinterest. If someone is displaying apathy, if means they look like they don't care what you're doing. If you "can't put up" with people not showing any interest in what you're doing with your phone, the problem may not be on their end.

No, you got it all wrong, I don't care what other people say. I really don't.

And yet this entire thread is about you caring what other people say.

Surely you can tell these people, "I don't care" or "Silly comments like that make you sound just like the people you claim to hate."

Or you could ignore them.

Most of these people are doing it to needle you and get a rise, others are self-righteous ideologues who can't help but bloviate about what they see as an injustice in the world. Really though, you're taking this far too seriously. You would be wasting your time to try to change their reactions to you, but it is simple to change your reactions to them.

lol @ verbal abuse. "I hate Apple" is child's play compared to the stuff Apple users spew about Samsung.

Normally the "I hate Apple" people are working behind the counter. I simply just respond with "make sure my fries are hot this time. Thank you"

"I don't like Apple. I hate Apple."

Why do people feel the need to announce that?

These are actual haters. I've never experienced anything like it that people feel like it's okay to say, I don't like Apple. Whenever I do something. Or whenever I pull out my phone.

I have recieved alot of verbal abuse from random *******s, why do they feel like they have to announce that they don't like Apple?

I guess Apple must have hurt them in some way? It just really puts me at a loss, I don't do anything to deserve it.

People are also crazy, I've had people giving me business cards to get my iPhone 5. "Call me if you need me."

I will not hesitate to start calling people out on this nonsense. I will not take it any more.

VERBAL ABUSE? You need Beyoncé Christ in your life.

I worked for Apple for two years here in Australia, both as a specialist and a genius, and was fairly upset with how staff were treated inside the retail environment.

For my money, I have no problems with Apple's products, but I don't care much for the company.

That said, I am now an android user (Galaxy S3),and while I do not offer my opinion on Apple unless people ask, I have, on several occasions, had people look at my phone and say something like, 'Ew, why don't you have an iPhone?'

That and you only need to visit these forums on a semi regular basis to see some of the anti-android hate that a lot of people spew.

Which for the record, I have no problem with people not liking certain products, but I can't help but think a lot of the hate comes from people who have never used anything other than an iPhone, but will jump on the 'I hate Samsung' bandwagon because it's fashionable to be an apple fan who hates Samsung.

Just my 2 cents.

i don't think they meant to use the word apathy, they most likely mean disapproval. I'm sure a lot of Apple owners have had this at one point or another, when you are using an Apple product just minding your own business and someone feels the need to pipe up and say "I don't like Macs/iPhones etc" like you would be interested or they just sometimes look at you like you're a pretentious poser.

Fanboys is what makes people hate Apple, not Apple or it's products.

This is definitely true: there ARE some pretty immature people on both sides. That said, it always seems to me like the LOUDEST hate comes from the Android side, and in larger numbers. For some reason they have a lot to prove, and just from my browsing the Android forums, it seems like there's a lot more "fandroids" trolling on the iOS forums than the reverse.

And hipsters especially get a lot of this. Because, I myself am a hipster. They wouldn't dare say anything like that around the elderly couples who use Macs to check their stock investments.

You wanna see abuse? Ya oughtta hang out on the Windows 8 forum and see how the MS fanboys treat MS fanboys that don't happen to like 8. Rough crowd over there. :)

I, for one, can't stand apple products! Fritters! Tarts! Pies! I'm a grapefruit person, myself.

Ok, so someone "hates"
Apple. Here's a few reason why:

Sour grapes -- they can't afford one, or for some reason can't have one.

Jealousy -- they are cynic by nature, and can't stand watching someone else enjoy what they have.

Fun. -- they enjoy making people mad. They'd say the same thing about a droid, if you were using that.

Poor experience -- some apple product they --, or a friend -- owned had given them grief. They assume all Apple products are bad.

Simple humor -- a friend is just joking around. Lighten up.

Instead of griping about what other people say, be thankful for what you own and ignore them. After all, they are simply exercising their freedom to express their opinions. They aren't threatening anyone. They aren't petitioning for all apple products to be confiscated. They aren't smashing your apple product with a hammer. They are just giving their opinion. If you're losing sleep over it, then take your aggression out by naming your pygmie after the apple-hater, then flick him into a volcano and move on.

I had a Samsung galaxy s3, I use to hate on the iPhone 4S. I realized that the hate was coming from envy. I had a plastic phone in my hands & I would see a phone made of glass & steel. Plus the screen & the UI had me soo jelous. Hey if you can't beat em' join em'. That's exactly what I did.

What's the only thing worse than a hipster?

One who self identifies as one.

:D
