Verification of Mountain Lion software

    Since Apple only allows download of there Operating Systems is there a method to verify the download of the Operating system has been completely downloaded successfully? As an example can a MD5 or CRC check be done on the downloaded file?

    The installer does the checking for you and all software from the App Store is signed.

    CD of operating system

    Can a DVD be made for installation purpose? I know it installs the OS software on the Hard drive partition. But If I want to recover the Disk space.

    I'd make a USB key over a DVD, but yes, it's possible.
