Hello folks.

Is there any way to verify the integrity of an iTunes/iPhone backup? The phone backs up regularly and never reports any issues, but when I had to restore recently, I was greeted with the wonderful informational message window telling me that it was impossible because the backup was corrupt.

So now I'm wondering how to prevent such things from happening again, and whether there was any way to verify that the backup will indeed work when I try to restore next time.

And no, I don't want to restore to see if it works...

I have had a few backups go corrupt on me as well but have not received any error during the backup process but did when restoring i did.

Well, you could use iPhone Backup Extractor and SQLite Database Browser to at least see if you can see the contents of the backup. That’s somewhat of a verification, since if they can’t open the backup, there’s something wrong. Other than that, there’s nothing AFAIK.
