Verify hard drive speed

Hey folks,

I am new here so my first stupid question, sorry.

I just received my new macbook pro 17" and I want to verify the hard drive is a 7200 rpm drive, how can I find that information and/or test the hard drive speed.

You will find the model number of your drive and a quick search on Google will reveal the spindle speed.

If you want the speed in MB/s, use XBench.
