You know, as this thread winds down I want to say this...
I am not mad or even upset that I still don't have a phone. I am fortunate enough to have an iPhone 6s in near perfect condition. It has never given me any issues to date and I am lucky to be able to even afford the Apple products that I do have. The fact that I have the ability to even post on these forums about waiting for a new iPhone every year makes me luckier than a lot of people.
I will probably never go back to Android simply because I love Apple as a whole. Being able to seamlessly access nearly everything between all my devices is great... but...
Apple botched this launch HORRIBLY. They were quick to mention that the Jet Black model scratches or shows signs of wear quickly while there should have been a disclaimer at the end that said "and we also only made 50 of them." It literally feels like they are shipping in the middle of their initial production run instead of producing them in a decently sufficient quantity THEN shipping. Anyone with half a brain would have known that the Jet Black was going to be EXTREMELY popular. There should have been more focus on it. ANYONE hired on at a company like Apple would have to be fairly competent so you have to wonder if this wasn't just an attempt to build hype by intentionally reducing supply so that it comes nowhere near demand.
I know someone is going to say "BUT THE JET BLACK IS HARDER TO MAKE!" Sure... it may take a bit more time to polish the parts but Apple KNEW this. They should have accounted for it, better. Plus it's not like it's a totally different phone with totally different internals. It's a different color...
TLDR...
Apple seriously botched this launch. Without changes any new model next year (rumored 10th anniversary) is going to be even worse than trying to get Jet Black now...
