so after the call I confirmed with Verizon and got another email with an order placed today and a deliver by 10/26 date. so my thinking is that the idiot cancelled my preorder and reordered again today. however on my online business account my original order is now "completed" and got a second email referencing my original order saying my request has been completed and to activate my new phone when it arrives. BUT I STILL HAVE NO SHIPPING INFO. no idea whats going on.
Same exact thing happened to me. Problem with my payment (Verizons fault) Except I didn't get it sorted out until 8 hours after the payment failed. After I fixed it I was told by two different reps that the payment failed and I lost my order. Was going to just camp out at a store, but I woke up to shipment notification and tracking numbers on my original order, it's being delivered tomorrow. I called to make sure it was correct and got a tier 2 or 3 rep who told me that it was correct and the first two reps were wrong, Verizon can't cancel the order once it ships, it never crosses their hands at all, it goes straight to you from China. He also said that the payment failing wouldn't have cancelled my order even under normal circumstances. The phone was always on schedule, Verizon's systems just didn't update the shipment information because of the failure in payment. It causes a delay in information. So I wouldn't worry too much! Have some hope!

In my case it was just the upgrade fee, not the device itself. That may have something to do with it. But from what the supervisor told me, it sounded like that was the case. Because they never get the phone. I'm assuming if you don't update the payment before it's delievered they would tell FedEx to hold the phone, but they don't actually cancel the order. They just withhold shipping information.

Edit: It was also Verizon's fault the payment failed at all, I don't want people to think they can miss payments and Verizon would be sympathetic.

Ok cool. Im a little worried because the account is under my fiance name but i used my debit card. The same card i use to pay our bill every month. (I am the account manager) when i entered the preorder i used my name in the billing address but when i got confirmation it says billing and shipping address under her name. Now i am not sure if its her name because the account is or if they got her name on my debit card which will cause my card to decline.

My account has over 5 lines, with 3 different debit cards in different names and address paying the bill and ordering devices at different times. My bill was paid by two different cards this month. My phone was ordered under my girlfriend's name (she'll be signing for it), With a card under my name, delivering to her address. Everything with shipping is going fine for me, my account is always chaotic with addresses and names and card numbers but I've never had an issue with a delivery. I would guess you're perfectly fine.

A buddy of mine who lives in Chicago, owns a 3rd party Verizon store. He told me that Apple gave his store 3 iP7's to sale. That's right, 3! None in which are iP7+'s. He said it's the worst shipments of iPhones on any launch he's ever had.

third party Verizon store here in Michigan tipped me off that they are getting 15 IPhone 7+'s. None are jet black, but I wanted matte black to begin with. I'm heading there tomorrow morning and if I get one, ill tell Verizon to shove this preorder up there gluteus maximus.
