Is Verizon any good? Service wise? I currently have T-Mobile and have been thinking about jumping ship. Im in NYC and T-Mobiles data gets SO SLOW during times of congestion to the point where I can't even send an iMessage *my plan claims its not supposed to get slow during so*. Also went to the beach in Long Island and had ZERO service. My partner who is on my plan didn't have service either. TMobiles coverage map claims I should have service everywhere. Thank god there were no emergencies because if not I would've been f*cked.

I have Verizon and have never had any problem with service in NYC. I lived there 2016-two months ago.

There has to be a motive behind this. It requires you to cancel and re-activate your subscription.

Yes 100% Verizon is better. I used to have T-Mobile service in Chicago and it was awful. Switched to Verizon and I couldn’t be happier. I travel quite a bit and Verizon service is consistent everywhere I go. I rather have reliable service everywhere at fast speeds than “super” speeds in only certain areas. It’s expensive for a reason compared to budget carriers.

Still better than at&t...
Never stops screwing us over...

Att unlimited plans now have access to Pandora Premium free. I found it to be as good as Spotify.

I believe its a similar deal but its not trial, Att gives free 9.99 membership as long as you carry your unlimited plan.

Lets see, T-Mobile will pay my netflix bill, sprint will pay my hulu bill... and Verizon gives you...

...service and coverage that’s ridiculously better than T-Mobile or Sprint. Seriously, it’s ridiculous that anyone would even compare them with VZW.

Hmmm we have the family membership with Apple Music. Damn.

So cancel it and enjoy the free service for six months like everyone else?

Better than AT&T... They just tell you to kick rocks.

Say what? I have ATT unlimited with lifetime HBO for free. I also have no cable tv and use DirecTV NOW with the 25$ a month credit. So, my DirecTV NOW only costs me $10 a month. Not bad at all.

6 month Trial. What the... lmao

I noticed that in Texas when I moved back from overseas. I went with Verizon, and now I work for them. They don't lie about their coverage map. And, honestly, they waited so long to introduce Unlimited to make sure they had the bandwidth. I know people will say that's not true, but it is. I'm on a plan similar to the Beyond Unlimited plan, and I've used 40GB in one month and didn't experience any slowdowns here in SoCal.

For Verizon, this is basically like giving their first born.

These kinds of promotions have been around outside the USA for years. Without Net Neutrality rules, these kinds of things can happen.

WTF does NN have to do with a promotion?

WTF does NN have to do with a promotion?

Under Net Neutrality, carriers have to treat all web traffic equally and cannot discriminate between, say Spotify and Apple Music. Therefore, with the repeal of NN, carriers can now start offering these kinds of deals...which they've had elsewhere for a long while now. You noticed how the guy in the article said it's the "first of it's kind"? Yeah, maybe in the USA it's the first, but this has been going on all over for years outside the US.

Other carriers (e.g. EE in the UK) already offer this exact “"first-of-its-kind offer”, perhaps as “an exclusive partnership with Apple”.

i live in NYC also. My personal phone is a tmobile, and my work phone is a verizon. In my experience verizon service is not as great as they advertise. I lose connection in my building all the time while i maintain 2 or 3 bars with my tmobile. My tmobile phone internet is also faster and fewer dropped calls. I tested both phones out of state since i travel up and down the states often and i get about the same spotty connections on both services.

I've been using Pandora for quite some time now. All of my family members love it. I just got the Family Plan that lets us have unlimited skips, request specific songs, loop playback of favorite songs, and it can be used with our Google Home accounts. It covers 6 family members for only $14.99 a month. Why in the world would I want to change to Apple Music.
Verizon can keep it. Even though I have an unlimited data plan, I just see no reason to change our music service.

I live in central PA, with tons of rural mountain areas. T-Mobile was nonexistent for years outside of major cities here until a little over a year ago. When I had T-Mobile prepaid on my iPad Pro earlier this year, I streamed Apple Music during my usual 150 miles drive through some extremely rural areas, areas AT&T, Sprint and Verizon all struggle or have no service. T-Mobile kept going with usually full reception of LTE, even in complete dead zones for the other 3. There were two times it switched to AT&T, and streaming stopped for about 5 minutes (no roaming on prepaid data). I was impressed enough, that I'm really thinking about switching in the next year or two. The only thing that's keeping me from doing it is the high down payments on devices when starting out.

Meh. The value of this offer is what, $30 beyond Apple's existing 3-month free trial? I'd blow that $30 in one month of more expensive Verizon bills.

I'm in NYC and use Verizon and find it quite good and decently fast most places in the city. Coverage is good too. I'm generally happy. I also get a corporate discount of like 5% through my employer, and I think a lot of companies have this kind of arrangement. It's not a lot of money, but hey, it's money and I'll take it!

The service is great! The price is not. I guess you get what you pay for. I'm excited for this, I get Apple Music free for 6 months, one less thing I have to pay.
