So as many of you know, Verizon has this promotion where you can get a new iPhone on their installment plan every year, as long as you trade in your old one. I'm wondering if any one knows if this is only for the 6s and 6s Plus, or does it apply to all iPhones currently on installment plans? I have an iPhone 6 that was bought before the 6s came out on an installment plan, and I'm trying to figure out how I'll be able to get the iPhone 7 at launch, I guess I'll just have to pay the installment off? Or will I be able to do the free upgrade thing? Anyone know?
Thanks in advance,
Jer

The program wasn't being offered before iPhone 6s, so with regular installment plan the terms of that plan would apply. Typically it's paying off the balance and that's that, but there are still people on Edge type of installment plans where after a certain point they can trade the phone in (instead of paying the rest of the balance off) and be able to get another one that way.

Ok. So basically I'd have to pay the rest off, and then I could sell the 6 to help curb the costs, and then just enter into a new installment plan with the 7.

Pretty much. Unless you are still on a slightly older Edge plan in which case you might have the additional option to trade it in (assuming you paid off enough of the balance) instead of paying the remaining balance.

Got it. I know it's not an Edge plan.

Pay it off, and sell it on swappa. That's probably your best bet to save money.
Ah ok, haven't used swappa before but I've looked at used phones there and it seems like a good site. Thanks for the tip!
EDIT: just choked there and it seems like iPhones are going for way more there than gazelle, like over $400 for my model. I should definitely be able to sell it for the price of paying it off, or at least almost that.
