Do the Verizon Apple.com preorders (full price, but Apple required Verizon credentials to purchase) come with activation lock?

Carrier Verizon Apple.com Preorders Activation Lock?

Yes, I had to activate first on the Apple.com pre-order. My in-store unlocked purchase did not come activation locked.
I don't really remember the specifics, but the phone ships with a new SIM.
* If you leave the new SIM in there, you can continue and it'll move the number it was purchased under to the new SIM.
* If you use the original SIM from the phone that you purchased it under, you can use that SIM to get past activation lock.
* If you try to put a different SIM in there, it won't work.
After you get the phone activated, the phone won't need the original SIM again.
