To get back on topic, I would love for all carriers to follow the no contract model. But this will truly work only if our government makes it a requirement for all cell phones to be factory unlocked so we could use any phones for any carrier. as long as you have carrier specific phones, they can charge higher fees then the market dictates.

One phone that can be used on any carrier. Then we will see true competition.

The govt has more the enough control. The consumer has to be more educated in the way we spend money.

That is true too but with a law requiring all carriers to sell unlocked phones, it will make it that much faster to move to the one phone that works on all carrier model.
