I am switching to Verizon from T-Mobile for the Iphone. Anyone had success getting discounts from Verizon customer service by haggling with them? At T-Mobile I was always able to get better deals on phones and plans by threatening to leave.

No.
Verizon and AT&T are not like Sprint and Tmobile.
They wont bother with you if you're cheap and try to ask for cheaper prices.
They have their set prices and you pick the plan you want. You can get FAN discounts added to your account if your employeer or college you attent qualify for a percentage off your monthly bill.
