I'm planning on traveling to Seoul, Korea next month, and want to use my iPhone 5 there. My service provider, Verizon, offers a Global Plan: $4.99 upfront plan for calls & 100 MB data for $25. Under this plan, any incoming/outgoing calls to anywhere is an additional $1.99 per minute, and SMS at .50 cents per.

Has anyone taken advantage of this Global Plan? Is it competitive/ cost effective? Or should I look more into renting/buying a nano SIM under a local plan for calls/data there? Does $25 for every 100 MB of data sound reasonable for an overseas plan? I'm interested mainly because of the convenience of such things as swapping SIMs, buying/ renting an overseas SIM card, dealing with a new temp number, notifying contacts, etc.
