Verizon iPad this, AT&T iPad that...

How many people bought the Verizon iPad and use AT&T to tether to it when in a good AT&T area. Then when you're in a bad AT&T area you flip on Verizon. Best of both worlds ftw!!

I guess for the record I don't pay for tethering and it's unlimited. I use mywi.


And on the iPad I plan to only pay for Verizon when I need it. I did activate it the first month to see how it was, but after that expires I won't flip it on until I need it. That is one of the points of the iPads data right? Use it when you need it. I may only need it 3-5 times a year.

If I were in your shoes and didn't have any upcharge to tether, I wouldn't have bothered with a 3G model in the first place and saved myself $130.

That was my original plan but I travel semi frequently to a place that doesn't have AT&T 3G. Then I came up with this plan.

Fair enough! Definitely not in a situation where I would ever be without AT&T coverage so it's not for me. Whatever works best for you though!
