Alright guys, bear with me... I know absolutely nothing about carriers, networks, CDMA, GSM, etc. I've done my research but I'm just even more confused now. So I have an iPhone 4 with unlimited data on Verizon over halfway through my 2 year contract. I'm thinking about going ahead and just buying the iPhone 5 at the no contract price though. So my question is: if I activate that new phone, will I have unlmited 4g data or will I only have 3g? Thanks for your help guys.

Ok I feel like this is a dumb question as well but how do I go about activating it?

they will activate it for you...if they dont, there is a 1800 number (if your in the US) you call. You enter your phone number, and it is all automated from there. takes about 1-2 minutes.

Make sue you turn off iMessage and power off your old phone before beginning activation. I would call them and double check that your activating it will keep your unlimited. I did the dumb line to my line upgrade and it worked great, but I had them walk me through the activation to make sure nothing went wrong with my unlimited. I swapped a 4 for a 5.

Well I actually went though with it and got it in the mail today and have no idea what to do? Do I have to call from a different phone?

I called but apparently it's not automated because they transferred me to speak with someone and they're closed. I'd like to be able to activate it tonight. Is there another way?
