Verizon iPhone 6s - locked or unlocked?

Hi all

Looking at buying a refurbished iPhone 6s that is listed as being for Verizon. I'm seeing some information around the web that suggests Verizon do not lock their LTE devices (which I guess this is) but hoping somebody could confirm for me? I'd be buying to use overseas so would hate to spend a load of money only to find it is indeed locked to Verizon.

Sim slot is unlocked on Verizon phones.

Not all Verizon iPhones.
iPhone 5 and newer iPhones are fully GSM unlocked for any carrier in the world.

All Verizon LTE phones come SIM-unlocked from the factory.
