Still no email with tracking info for me. I'm in the Chicago burbs and was assigned location N211401. My order was confirmed at 1:52 central, 8 minutes before launch and I am order #74. Hopefully it will come soon! I ordered 2 iPhones (both 32gb) and wonder if that is delaying things.
Yes I have a feeling that since we ordered through apple until we receive and follow activation protocal it will not register with verizon just my guess though
I feel like before the iPhone sold out, if I went back to verizon to order a second one, it said that my order was processing next to my main line. I think you are probably spot on about activating it.

I'm N211501 (southwest suburb of Cleveland). No shipping e-mail yet but my order said shipped early on Verizon's order status page and I verified it was shipped using 611. My order # was in the low 5000's and it was placed around 3:10am.

Just got a shipping confirmation e-mail with a tracking number! I ordered in NC at around 6:30 this morning, and my origin scan from UPS is in Memphis, TN.
Same with me. It says it is shipped - not sure why i am sitting here waiting for an email when the dang phone is probably hurling its way through the sky towards chicago as we speak. I'm off to bed!
