Verizon iPhone X Activation

So I ordered 2 iPhone X's 64gb SG paid in full and no payment plan. I had to tie them to 2 numbers on my verizon account. When the phones comes in, do I have to use the specific phone number I tied to the iPhone when I preordered? Or can you just use a different number (if I wanted to sell to someone on eBay)?
