So, I'm not on Verizon's unlimited plan because it is so god-awful expensive if you have 3 out of 4 lines that don't use much data. I've always been ok with my 8Gb plan... my usage is usually between 6-7Gb, so it's a good fit.

Since I got my Iphone XS Max, in both Sep-Oct, and Oct-Nov, I've blown through my usage with abandon. Two weeks ago, I got two "out of data" notifications within a couple days of each other. I was buying the $15 data boost, and just wrote it off as my Mom's iPad doing more streaming than usual.

Nope. That wasn't it. On two days, 11/6 and 11/10, Verizon logged over 1Gb of data usage *each day* from my iPhone. One of the 1Gb transfers was at 5:20am. They told me it was for system updates, but I don't allow app or system updates over cellular data, so try another one.

Ultimately, I got my $30 data boost money back so we're all good. But watch those cellular data usages with the new iPhones. For years I've never blown through my data until these past two months.

Same here, however we have a 6S and 8. Wife and I were on the 4GB plan as we are not heavy data users. Over the last few months we have blown through our data in about 15 days or so each month without changing what we normally do (no streaming of any kind). Safety mode is unbearably slow and didn't want to keep paying the $15 for data boost or jumping up to the next size plan.

Went to Best Buy and bought a $1 SIM card for Total Wireless and ported out my number. TW uses the Verizon network. I've been on it for the last week or so and everywhere I go I have service and notice no difference is speed from when I was on Verizon. We now get 22 GB for $62. Just paid off my wife's phone and when our Verizon plan is up next month her number will be ported over.

LOL. I've been on Unlimited Data since December 25, 2008. First on Sprint, now on T-Mobile.

No worries.

Verizon Unlimited data here and I'm still averaging 2-3GB/mo with my Xs MAX like I was with my 8, 6s+, and 6+. I must be old school but I much prefer WiFi when doing anything on my phone. May also be that I'm the designated driver for my family whenever we go anywhere. My family on my family plan can easily burn through 20GB/mo+ (and have for years).
