This could backfire. I know I've gotten several calls from the county (9/11 dispatch) at work from a all-0 number.Isn’t that a carrier service. I have att and can’t, but a Verizon groupie told me he could(not verified). Also, I hear there is a way of setting a 000-000-0000 contact and blocking which is supposed to work. All I can say is I never get “no caller Id” calls, but I do get stupid spoophed calls
As of 3/6, according to AP only T-Mobile has any STIR/SHAKEN going.Rather than assigning motivations to companies you don't like, maybe consider that they've been working on the STIR/SHAKEN infrastructure, and finally have it working, and that's why the carriers are "suddenly" offering these filters.
STIR/SHAKEN is implemented on the phone switch. Handset makers like Apple do not have to do anything.
Super awesome that this doesn't work with any new iPhones
This ONLY works with iPhone 5 through iPhone 6S - DOES NOT WORK WITH 7/8/X/XS/XR
Thanks for a great product rollout VZW - again - make this FREE like the AT&T version and make it available on new devices. You're always so anxious to upgrade us to new phones and now you don't support any device less than 3 years old?? F&*King idiots!
And as of 6/28, the article you're commenting on says Verizon is rolling out STIR/SHAKEN. The press release from Verizon, linked from the top of the article says, "this week, the company began deployment of STIR/SHAKEN caller ID technology as part of its network interconnections".As of 3/6, according to AP only T-Mobile has any STIR/SHAKEN going.
Installed on my max. Let’s see how this works going forward.Super awesome that this doesn't work with any new iPhones

Apps don't have the ability to block or otherwise interfere with callsSurely by now *some* app in the app store exists that just blocks every call not in your contacts. That just seems ridiculously basic.
Yes they do. Nomorobo routes all my spam calls directly to the junk folder in voicemail. Phone doesnt even ring.Apps don't have the ability to block or otherwise interfere with calls
You're right, it looks like they added this capability in iOS 10.Yes they do. Nomorobo routes all my spam calls directly to the junk folder in voicemail. Phone doesnt even ring.
You can disable that aspect of it if desired."For Verizon customers, the free call filtering option will provide alerts when an incoming call is likely a spam caller,"
I would rather do this myself (if your phone can do it).... If there a 'convenient' alert service... it will soon turn into an 'annoying servic'e when Verizon floods you with messages.
Particularly if your one that gets 99% of spam calls.. ugh ...
I have it on my iPhone 8 and my daughter has it on her iPhone X...Does not work for me on an iPhone 8. Say unable to register, try later.
Works on my iPhone 8 and my daughter's iPhone X..On my Xs, the app says you have to enable "call blocking & identification " in settings, but the option is not available. Seems like a fail on VZW's part.
By actually finally making something free?Good old nickel and dime Verizon.
I'm pretty happy with this also... I had one robo call the first afternoon I installed this, then zero in the three days since. I was getting three or four a day.3 full days no robo calls
I was getting about 10 or more a day. We’ll see how the free version does.I'm pretty happy with this also... I had one robo call the first afternoon I installed this, then zero in the three days since. I was getting three or four a day.

Excuse me - I thought I saw the terms "Verizon" and "free" in the same sentence. Must've been a mistake.
Apple's is definitely the nuclear option, and has flawsSorry late to the game..... for those using it since some months have passed by, how is it working for you? iOS13 is providing a blocking setting for any call received not in the contacts list..... which would you use?
