I'm going to get my new iPad this week and want to get a 4g model. Is there anyone here that can tell me which carrier in Western New York is the better choice? I would more than likely use wi-fi more often at home (Buffalo), but will use the iPad for some business while traveling around the area. Hoping someone has some insight into what would be a better choice. Thanks.

I have had AT&T iPhone since iPhone 3. I went with Verizon for the iPad. Best choice in our area especially out in the suburbs.

Just find out who has better LTE coverage in the areas u will need cellular coverage. If its VZW, get VZW. If its AT&T, get AT&T. Rather simple question if u ask me.

I have a 4S on AT&T. But I live just outside Philly and AT&T has no LTE service near or around my area. So I got a VZW iPad because the LTE coverage is great. I was pulling 25 down sitting in a coffee shop this morning. Not possible had I gone with AT&T. More like 3 or 4 on hspa+. So the choice was very easy.

I live in Buffalo too. Even thought I prefer AT&T for my iPhone, I bought a Verizon iPad, because AT&T LTE service is still so limited in the US, and they haven't even announced plans for Buffalo yet. Verizon has LTE in Buffalo, but I don't think I would ever need data unless I'm traveling.

However, it wasn't an easy decision, since I do go to Toronto once in a while, and only the AT&T iPad will work with Rogers LTE. The Verizon iPad should work with Rogers HSPA+ though.
