It’s not working for me, it won’t let me sign in because “no streaming connection detected, you must have a streaming device on your account to access your Fios TV service.” They need to work on their onboarding a bit more.

Edit: reading the fine print, I see this app isn’t for me. They require you to have their router and at least one rented conventional set-top boxes. This is meant as an add-on for people already all-in on their services. Not terribly useful.

Remember when they had an app for Xbox 360 that just worked, streaming live TV at any location with Verizon TV subscription?

I tried the app and got “no streaming device connected” no’s I’m reading about a $20 fee to make it work? WTF I can rent 2 cable boxes for that! What is the point? I was excited to get rid of a box in my bedroom but not for an up charge for a service I already have included (stream to 2 devices)

I’ve only seen the $20 fee in stories about this app. If you dig into why it won’t let you use the app, even after authenticating via the mobile app on your home fios network, you’ll see their requirements.

if I had a Fios set top box, this is only useful as an add-on in another room. I have TiVo and cable cards which I prefer to the Verizon box.
