A colleague of mine is on Verizon's Edge program, has an account that is paid up, and has an iPhone 5 and she has paid enough on it that she's eligible for an upgrade (confirmed by the in-store rep). She went in to our local VZW store today to ask about trading up for the iPhone 6 when it becomes available. HOWEVER, the employees told her that Edge customers will have to wait until "round two" of shipments (presumably meaning after demand has been met and other customers have had the chance to purchase the iPhone 6's before they--Edge customers--will be allowed to purchase them).
Has anyone heard of this? The rep took the issue to his manager, who confirmed this. The most ludicrous thing though, was when another rep who was overhearing the situation tried to say that it was actually Apple who was mandating this policy. Absolutely ridiculous. Some insight would really be appreciated.
