Verizon taking pre-orders for the 5S on September 18th???

I called 611 today for something and while I was on hold I heard a message that at 3:01am eastern time on the 18th the iPhone 5S would be available for pre-order.

For the life of me I can't get the message to replay and I have called back like 5-6 times.

Seems strange as I doubt that would give them enough time to ship to have it at its destination by the 20th so why do it early?

Maybe I'm going crazy and I just heard incorrectly.

MAYBE its for a same day delivery? Possibly but not likely as they would have said something during the keynote.
