A great all-around solution for the closing up of the Internet until they start blocking VPNs... or charging the VPN's ISP for streaming too XDGet the cheapest unlimited plan, use a VPN. Done.

Yeah, but they won't be able to make the site give you the lower resolution version or, for that matter, do any of the other usual carrier-website collusion. They could try charging you more, though. It's probably not rocket science to detect the bandwidth usage pattern of streaming video even when running through a VPN and shape it by bitrate, especially if they have some sort of machine learning. Will they bother? Probably not.
What really gets me is the Go Unlimited with the depri. Postpaid plans should not have depri at all. MVNO prepaid stuff, fine, but not postpaid. Limiting speed like AT&T does is fine, at least you know exactly what you're paying for, like with cable internet.
What do you mean? Can you please clarify?I had to go through a configuration wizard.
Sorry for the delay. I've been under the weather. What do you mean? Can you please clarify?
Reading this thread is a good chuckle.i have been with Verizon for over 15 years.
There new unlimited plan was the way it is now with 720p limit (TMobile was 480) and they gave us 12gb tethering (later upgraded to 15 at no charge) per LINE and it was 20 bucks a line with 4 lines or more.
They are giving you an option if you want 4k downloads for 10 bucks and are not changing the original contract of 720p and hello if you watch at 720p it don't eat up any of your 22gb per line limit before they throttle you.
Walk into any freaking building on TMobile and watch how you go from 60mb lte down to absolute dog **** 2mb 1x.
Both, really. Bandwidth is a problem. I hate the BS tactics they use, but the selfish side of me is happy the unlimited users are getting screwed because I've got a limited plan and am sick of waiting forever to load a webpage.I thought the reason for throttling was to save the Internet from people using a scarce resource, bandwidth. Turns out, they just made it scarce so they could sell it off to anybody with an extra 10 bucks.
