Ordered iPhone 4S 64GB Black on Verizon's website.
Their website seems to have a few bugs.
My current phone is a global HTC Touch Pro 2, with Global Data pay per MB.
I like the ability to make emergency calls in foreign countries.
Thus I had to wait for a global iPhone 4S instead of getting the 4 in Feb.
So I requested a SIM to be added to the order.
Though once I viewed the plan options, it forces you to choose a Global Data package.
The minimum package being 50MB for $30, yes they are insane.
They used to have $70/m unlimited data plan a year ago, that you could turn on for a week or two.
I remember I paid $10 using internet all week on my vacation abroad before.
Then insurance is like $9.18/m with $169 deductible.
My current insurance is something like $5/m with $50 deductible.
I think I will attempt to get Applecare+ later, won't cover loss/theft but better than nothing and cheaper.
Then I currently have 2000 free text messages per month, left over from a deal they had many years ago for PDA phones.
It was nowhere to be seen on the page.
Frustrated, I called *611 to try to get a warm body on the line.
Hunted through the menus and found the iPhone order support line.
Got a person within a min, was very impressed.
She left a note on my account about the Global Data pay per MB and the free text plan.
Told me to call back after activation to fix up the plan.
I was done in 5min, Verizon CS rocks...
Then I proceeded with the order online.
It didn't let me change the billing name, which might be interesting.
The billing name will not match my card name, so hopefully they check address only.
When I tried to ship it to my work and entered business address, it kept prompting me to enter company name.
There was no company name field to fill out.
I ended up selecting residence and proceeded to enter my work address, hopefully they will find the building.
Been an hour now and still no confirmation email, hopefully it goes through.
