why would Verizon do that? The android version of google maps destroys the apple version in every way

Is there a link to this ad somewhere?

Never mind thanks Jeffrosproto! that is crazy! Maybe there are preparing to see what the iPhone UI look like on their website ;)

Looks like google maps to me. Apple doesn't have any exclusive agreement that I know of. And consider that Android is made by google, why wouldn't they use their own maps...

And for the idea that google maps on android "destroys" the iOS version....why shouldn't it? Why wouldn't google have an accelerated version for its own OS? Microsoft has been doing that for years.

Google does in fact own the maps. However, how the maps are displayed and the UI are controlled by apple. And that picture is clearly the iOS UI.

That's how Google Maps looks on my Galaxy S. The UI on the add is clearly iOS. :p

True but the location label is clearly iOS and not how I see it on my Droid X, the map is indeed accurate and specific to google. The OP is only part of an epic fail.

Sure, because it TOTALLY looks like android.
