Vertex Max IOPS on MBP 2011

Anyone know what steps i should take before and after installing my ssd to make sure it performs and installs correctly?

I've heard people suggest writing 0's to the ssd before use. Also, i have a 500 gb hard drive with about 100 GB written and im transfering to a 240 gb MAX IOPS. Will carboncopy account for this discrepency?

Just install it and go.
And what discrepancy? You'll be using 100GB of the SSD, not sure what you're asking.
