Vertical pixel lines is this a connector cable or the screen?

Hello there,

My screen recently developed vertical lines in a portion of the screen. This was due to a bag of rice that got stuck in the hinge and then crushed when I was closing the screen. I’ve created a video describing the problem:

Can someone tell me if this is a problem with the connector or the whole screen? Not really in the mood of shelling out $600 for a new screen

Unfortunately, it looks like you screen is damaged. Most probably it is the connection of you screen panel which has a problem. Check for Tap/Cof bonding failure.
