Just wondering what stands people are going to use to hold their new MacBook Pro if they're using it in clamshell mode? I was a fan of the TwelveSouth BookArc but without a new insert, the M1 Air and 14" Pro kind of flop forwards in it.

I'm not bothered about being able to use the laptop as a second screen, so are there any good stands available for these yet?

I’ve been looking for a vertical stand too. I read a review that the inserts from the Twelve South one can sometimes leave a permanent mark so that turned me off.

I saw one that is quite minimalist and also adjustable from Created Gear. Made of anodised aluminium. Very simple and sleek if that’s your thing.

The one I’m considering is from Grovemade. Made of wood and stainless steel with a wool felt insert. Bit more expensive but looks very nice.

Grovemade makes high quality products - you get what you pay for.

I never had a problem with the inserts on my TwelveSouth BookArc, but it’s been a few years since I used one, so I’ll admit they could be different now.

The Created Gear stand is a good choice, I have one for my MacBook Air - well, different brand, identical in every way.

Grovemade do make great quality products, I’ve had them in the past. But I’m just not in the market for that style of stand right now.

This year, I think I’m going to go with what is basically a BookArk rip-off, but in wood - they can be found in abundance on Amazon.

That Amazon one looks pretty nice too.

How about this different model that makes use of the laptop's own gravity to close both sides to hold the MBP?
