I guess the ads rotate so different ones come up every time.

The Safari pop-up blocker sucks, things are always getting past it.

Actually, the Safari built in pop-up blocker works great for me. Perhaps you are visiting too many "questionable" sites?

I sometimes visit the sites mentioned but haven't seen such behavior from Safari. Perhaps I don't browse the web enough? =p

Safari update

the update mentions javascript vulnerability. Sounds likely to have fixed it. anyone try it yet?

Something similar got past Firefox's popup blocker also at a newspaper site, likely the same ad.

Annoying, but easy to click past.

Got this today on Facebook. I knew I shouldn't have gone to Facebook....

This horrible software has been around for quite some time. I have it pop-up on Firefox as well.

Currently, I block all these domain names at my router (all the same software/malware) - add dot com to the end of these (except the dot net one):

malware-scan
antivirusforall
drivecleaner
advancedcleaner
main-scanner
0scan
microantivirus2009
clearantispyware
onlineprivatescan
freeantivirus-online
yourantispywareplus
online-antivirus dot net
quick-scanner

Over time all of these domains have hosted the same malware. On Windoze, it installs and then falsely advises that you have a heap of viruses and asks you to "purchase" the full version to remove them - as somebody already pointed out.

It's difficult because I rarely see the same domain name twice.

Just added another today:

malwareprosecurityscanner

add a dot com to it.
