This is soooo annoying.

Nowhere near as annoying as people who don't describe the issue they're having but instead expect us to watch a youtube video.

As far as the actual issue is concerned, I don't go swiping back furiously twenty times in the space of two seconds, so I haven't noticed it and have no issue with it. If I want to go back, I go back one or maybe two pages. If I want to go back further, I hold down the back button to see the recent history and click the page I want (if you're swiping that fast, how do you know when you've reached the right page anyway?).

If this really is how you want to use the swipe back gesture, do as BasicGreatGuy suggested and send a bug report to Apple. Be sure to actually describe the issue though, because they won't be watching youtube videos.

The classic "you are holding it wrong" right ?
<S> It's probably the OP's fault that he wants the swipes to work like they ALWAYS did. </S>

Safari swipes are awful under Yosemite.

Not saying that, I said that I don't frantically swipe, and that this therefore isn't an issue for me. I said I don't see any point in doing so, but if the OP really, really wants to be swiping like that, with no possible way of knowing whether they've swiped the correct number of times to get to the page they want, they can report it to Apple and get it fixed.

So no, not saying "you're holding it wrong." I'm saying "you're holding it in a really, really weird, impractical way, but if that's what you want, go ask Apple to fix it."

safari still sucks, everytime I type i have to wait on it to input text. chrome still works great

Not my experience with Safari. It is extremely quick, including render time. I find it a lot faster then Safari under Mavericks. Not sure why some people are having issues with Yosemite Safari and others, like myself, that do not.

I use three fingers to go back/forward (that way you lose the animation) and two fingers to pan around. Not trying to downplay your issue, but Safari has problems that are much more pressing, like the loss of the title bar over 13 whole vertical pixels, and the new short url bar.

I don't use Yosemite anymore, so my question is: Is this fixed in Safari 8.0.8 or Safari 9?
