Hi folks,
Can someone please explain to me what it is iPhoto does and how it works?

I am an old fashioned Mac user who wants to organize my photos into folders with names and dates I give them, caption the photos and rename their files have them stay that way, and have what I see in my photo viewing and editing program match what I see in my Pictures folder on my HD.

I actually use my Canon camera utility to work with photos because it's less frustrating than iPhoto.

I read the poll about which software people prefer to use other for their photos, so if there's one that is easier to use and less idiot-proof than iPhoto, please do mention it.

Ok, rant over. Thanks for your thoughts!

Thanks

Even though I shouldn't have needed my hand held, I did, and now I think I need to rebuild my iPhoto library, but that's another matter.
