My parents will be opening their first Apple computer tomorrow. They will mostly be doing parent-like tasks such as storing photos, email, surfing the web, and the occasional home movie. What I'm wondering is if any of you know of beginner video tutorials for Mac OS X, something like and introduction to finder, dashboard, mail, installing programs, and general "In windows it was this but in OS X it is this" type help for not too tech savvy switchers.

I've seen the few videos on Apple.com but I'm hoping for something that doesn't assume you know anything about Macs.

Thanks

i second the lynda video tutorials. Very comprehensive.

Also look at the video podcasts available on itunes. They're pretty good too.

stupid me. I guess when I get frustrated my brain ceases to function.

I needed to be root in order to get into it.

but now I can't erase anything on it, it's read only, but at least i can get the stuff i need and dd the disk.

Thanks anyway 🙂
