    24" iMac 2.8Ghz Intel core 2 Extreme
    2GB ram
    500GB drive

Hopefully to be delivered by Feb 4th...We are very excited to throw away this PC. lol We will have lots of questions.....Once those have been answered and we have the imac figured out. I'm going to buy myself a 17"macbook pro.

Thanks in advance for answering our stupid questions i'm sure we will have.

    Congrats!

    One thing to say;

Go order 4G matched RAM IMMEDIATELY ,(try OWC, REALLY), and install it as soon as you can.
RAM makes the whole thing run faster, even more obvious performance difference improvement than the CPU makes to the "naked eye".
Maxing the RAM is a relatively inexpensive way to noticeably improve speed.

Way cheaper to get the RAM from anybody but Apple, OWC will sell you matched RAM at low price.
And,(as I have propped on another thread), OWC has vids that walk you through installations of your upgrades.
    AND
You can send them the RAM you swapped out and they will give you a rebate.

RAM on the iMac is a piece o' cake.

    CHEERS!!!!!!

If you are excited about the receipt, just wait until you get the actual machine. I disagree about the RAM. 2 GB is fine to start. If you find that you use programs that require a lot of RAM, or that you want to run Windows along with OSX, you can always add more later.

While you wait, you might want to read Apple's Switcher 101 guide, the Mac Beginner's Guide here, or David Pogue's Switching to the Mac. Best wishes.

Don't throw it away, donate it to a local charity that could reuse it.

All the hazardous materials and chemicals found in computers is extremely bad for the environment.

Either that, or DOD Stomp the HD, reload all the original software, and pass it onto a relative, friend, neighbor, or sell on Craigslist.

Other than that, congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forums. No one minds answering questions, and I doubt yours will be stupid.

Stupid questions are ones like whats 2 plus 2. :p
