As the subject notes, I’ve had my XS for less than a day so far (came from the 7), and I’ve been experiencing headaches, something akin to a sinus headache with pressure at the bridge of your nose and around the eyes.

I’m loving the phone, but obviously concerned as this won’t work if it’s always going to be like this. Any chance I got a bad display, will get accustomed to the new screen, etc., or am I going to have to throw in the towel and take this bad boy back?

Sounds like you're getting a sinus headache, OP. It may be a coincidence that you got a new phone.

Problem is that I only get that way when I’m looking at the phone. In just switched back over to my 7 to see if I notice a difference.

Big thread on oled eye strain.

I wasn’t aware it was a thing, OLED eye strain that is.

The OLED pixels are fast strobe lights. It's not a constant illumination. It's not good to stare at any OLED screen for hours at a time. Get an iPhone 8 or XR. It doesn't flicker.
