I know this was here for 8 and 8 plus users but with the 29w charger it's gone from 0% to 80% in the space of an hour.

I know it was expensive buying the 29w and USB type C charger from apple but when you need a quick charge this has perfect.

be interesting the speed for the fast wireless charging when apple enable it.

So my iPhone is stuck on 80%, I'm waiting for the backup-restore process to finish to restart the iPhone X to see what happens. Has yours moved past 80?
Intersting, I have the same issue, I am charging from the official apple usb-c to lightning with an aukey 29w adapter, I use this set up regularly with my iPad pro. Been stuck at 80% for over an hour now...

Cant wait for this, hope that won’t mean that I will have to charge it as much as my iPhone 6 though lol. Doesn’t last a day now

I noticed the exact same thing! 80% charge for a long time while plugged in. My Phone eventually dropped to 70% before I plugged it back in, then it eventually past 80% when the CPU usage dropped.

I was using the 87 Watt USB C charger. That charger should do 9 volts at 3 amps for 27 watts for this iPhone X. The 29 Watt charger also has a 14.5 volt at 2 amp charge for 29 watts. All the USB C chargers do 5 and 9 volts for up to 12 and 27 watts respectively as well.

I’ve seen charging graphs (% x minutes) slow at 80%. I believe the fast charge stops at 80% and drops to a max of 12 watts. That in combination to heavy CPU usage (during restore and app installs) caused the charging to stop at 80%. The phone was using as much power as it was receiving.

Fast charging is a great feature in the iPhone X. Very valuable in many situations
Hopefully the battery life is as good or better than the 8+. So far it looks really good

Holy crap mine was stuck on 81% too! I was using the MacBook Pro charger and usb-c to lightning cable. Once I moved over to wireless charging finally reached 100.

I think there’s a bug.

I've been using a Qi Charger and although they charge they are no where near as fast as using an iPad charger and lightning cable. Its fine for overnight but still need the cable for a quick top up during the day.

overall it charged in over two hours. think about 2 hours, 10.

agree on wireless charging I will use that at night as really thats when you know you won't need it to charge fast.

yeah it didn't stay on 80% for long. Yours might need a few chargers to get used to he battery?

Only issue with battery life

Got the same usage as standby

Anybody else the same?

Looks like maybe you just had a background process that kept running. This was happening in the early iOS 11 beta releases and a simple soft restart fixed it.

so a hard reset might do the trick then.

Everyone is finally copying Oppo from 2014.

My G5 & V20 can charge from 0-100% in seconds with removable battery or 75 minutes with fast charger, tops. Both are one of the fastest charging phones ever behind the LG V10. Faster than my MBA which also charges fast at about 90 minutes.

Just be careful of the heat. My LGs can get to 80% within 45 min. Both my G5 variants would also charge slow for no reason and would need to reboot it once in awhile to get the fast charging back. Fast charging under 90 minutes is awesome. Again, be aware of the heat. That was Note7's downfall.

[doublepost=1510997077][/doublepost]Any update one this? Experienced it too on my iphone 8 plus and x. Phone stops charging at 80%, it only increases when i go back to the regular charger and put the phone on airplane mode. Did back up restore helped?

Unfortunately, I do not understand physics. Is there any difference between Apple's three USB C power adapters with regard to fast charging iPhones? I have the 29W, 61W and 87W lying around and I have been wondering about it. Never scientifically tested it, though.

The smallest 29W will work just as well as the bigger ones. You will receive no benefit in charging time from using the bigger units.

It's a disgrace that a fast charging charger is not included with the iPhone X.

I wonder how much strain it puts on the battery if you do this often.

My co-worker said he was scared of his S7's fast-charging because it got so hot.

Can't be advantageous for the battery-life.
Mine gets hot too but it's not like you would use fast charge overnight as doesn't matter how long it takes then.
