Very Interesting Battery question :)

Battery life has been great for me; admittedly I only make/receive a few calls most days and send a handful of text messages, but I also use it as an iPod on the way to and from work (an hour each way) and have it check my email every hour. Wifi is turned on but auto-sleep set to 1 minute (which disables wifi).

Current stats: 5 hours usage, 36 hours on standby and battery capacity is still over half. Seems pretty good to me!
 
yea i hink you have to run it down and charge it afew times for the full battery use to be honest, ive done it and it seems to be lasting longer every time.

That is a myth..... lithiom iron wil work better if you always charge the battery when there is still a resonsiabnle amount of charge still in the battery... apple state as such on their web-page........ running it down to empty destroys battery life...

Set my iPhone up yesterday morning, spent the whole day playing with it until the battery ran down, then did a full charge last night.

So far 17 hours of Standby Time, with 2 hours 15 mins of usage, including around 30 emails ( checked for once an hour ), browsing Internet over EDGE for a good half an hour or more, listening to music for an hour or so, and a few calls up to 20 min worth. 90% of the charge remains. Happy with that. :)
 
My main use is Safari, on a looong train commute, plus during breaks at work. So far, with Ask to Join on, auto check on, I get about 6-7 hours use before needing to charge (which is every day... my iPhone gets caned :) )

Ideally I'd like about 2 hours more... but then again I could just take the cable into work and charge it.
 
Ive charged my phone fully earlier today. Since then I've had 4 hours and 43 mind of usage and the battery is just a out to go into the red again. Anyone know if this is normal usage?

That sounds normal to me. Relax, that's pretty good. I'd like to see what other phones like the N95 could do when used in the same way (are they better, it's a genuine question).
