Hi, I was thinking of getting an old aluminium imac for my sofa, so that I can comfortably work. I will be getting a 24' 2007 imac solely for the purpose of writing documents, doing research and watching movies. I will also be getting a vesa mount for it, so that I can mount it on a vesa arm for it to be out of the way when I don't want it. Now, I have been searching for a long vesa arm which can swivel and is about 3m long, I have however not found any ones in that length. Does anyone of you know of a long vesa arm that firs my needs?
Thank you for your help! :)

PS please don't say get a laptop because I prefer large screens!

The 24" iMac weighs around 11.5 kg or 25.4 lbs., that is a lot of weight to distribute over 3 m, which would require another 35 kg to put on a 1 m arm on the other side of the pivot. If that other arm would even be shorter, like 50 cm, you would need 70 kg and so on.

As for a very long arm, but only half of what you want: http://www.amazon.com/Long-Articulated-Hospital-LCD-Monitor/dp/B00801CN9W

Found this to illustrate my above point:
