Since when they name it ###gate anyway? And how did the 'gate' suffix even come up?

Watergate came from the Name of the Hotel where the DNC headquarters were based when it was broken into by Nixon's cronies. The major part of the original Watergate Scandal was the cover up that then happened.

Anything bad with hints of a cover up now tend to get the *Gate attached to it.

i am addicted

Streamed 16 episodes in total of various TV series yesterday followed by a couple of rather extended Skype & FaceTime dialogues

Browsed continously looking for a solid case for my new feather weight companion & for my next trip

Then moved on to streaming music from spotify and finished off with an ebook.

Battery was at 20% at bed time.

I did not feel any wrist strain whatsoever holding it compared to good old ipad 3.

I can't seem to put it down. It's so awesome I'm spending too much time on it. And the battery just keeps going and going, and my hand doesn't get tired holding it. My MacBook Air and iPhone 6 are feeling neglected.

It's serious. I need help.

I am with you and I could not be more thrilled with the Air 2 and this is coming from a guy who had the Air 1.

What is your screen brightness set to or do you just have it on auto brightness?

I have been playing Defenders on my Air 2. It eats up the battery. It is Metal optimized.

Something to be concerned about?

Actually, I had something happen with my new Air 2 that has me a bit concerned, but thought I would ask if it has happened to anyone else.

Just got it Friday, 64 Gig, but on Sunday, I picked it up off the table and it would not turn on! No display. Tried resetting it, but never got the Apple. I was talking to my daughter about it (Expert at Apple) and she was talking me through all of the things to try when suddenly my home screen appeared. It never rebooted, as I never got the Apple to appear. I am using a smart cover on it. Should I be concerned? I know I have 14 days to return it for another.

Welcome to the club, us Air 1 owners have been enjoying the same over the past year.

Guys, when you play game that use Metal, for example Defenders, how warm is the area where CPU/GPU chip resides? i guess it's nothing worrying as nobody mention any uncomfortable overheating?

I keep the Smart Cover off when I play games, not folded over covering the back of the iPad.

With Defenders as far as the iPad getting warm? On a scale of 1 to 10, it is a 3 and maybe even 2. My brightness setting is 40% and no other apps are open.

Read reviews in the App Store, the game crashes. I do not attribute it to the Air 2, it is Metal optimized and needs to be addressed by the developers.

I'm having a similar issue. No matter how hard I try to get the battery down to 0%, it would barely budge! I'm streaming music, playing games, streaming hi-def video, browsing the web, and looking at my Twitter which are supposed to drain battery. I'm trying very hard! I currently have 8 hours and 40 minutes of usage with 33% remaining, and if I did the math correctly, that should bring me to 13 hours which is against Apple's claim! #batterygate

You two must have the super pro battery models that no one else got. Lucky.

Interesting to know what level brightness you two use.

Currently at about 50% and I spend about an hour yesterday is direct sunlight. Plus my house has a lot of bright natural lighting.

I'll tone mine down a little bit then. I use it at about 75%. I put it back on auto brightness, so we'll see how that affects my bat life.

I live now with 40%, my battery life so far today is much better. That percentage may not be optimal for thorough enjoyment but I can live with it when I know beforehand that day the Air 2 will be in heavy use.

I just got mine. I have had 4 iPads earlier. Out of them this is certainly TOP2 experience. I liked iPad4 also very much when I got it two years ago. IPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 are really good devices. :)

I badly want one but I really need to stop spending all my money on toys :(

I felt the same way, but I am giving in. Going and buying one after work. This was a bad year (for my wallet) for me and Apple devices.
-Mac mini 2012
-iPhone 6+
-iPad Air 2
