Not that I am immediately interested, but I was wondering whether to install Windows just as a test/fallback partition in order to use my licensed copy of Parallels.

In this regard, it's just impossible to find a full install version of Windows in tech stores, which normally sell only the insufficient and extremely overpriced "upgrade" license for Windows 7 for USD 100 (at the very least).

So my simple question is: where to get a cheaper, FULL licensed copy of Windows (XP, Vista or 7) to install on top of Parallels? Only on eBay (where it's damn hard to see which license is what") or is there anywhere to look for? Any legal download sources? Thanks!

You can get a full license of Home Premium here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116716

The problem is that it's not cheaper than Upgrade since you think that is overpriced.

Even OEM is not (much) cheaper than Upgrade. Both OEM and Upgrade can be made to work, but are not within the strict letter of the license.

If you have a student ID, you may be able to find other deals, but usually on upgrade versions. Remember the assumption is that whoever PC you have came with some version of Windows.

Note also that Windows 7 will work for 30-120 days without a license key. You can get an ISO legally from Microsoft from one of the links here: http://www.mydigitallife.info/windo...links-ultimate-professional-and-home-premium/ and use that in Parallels for testing purposes.
