My son's birthday is comming up and he really wants an iPhone. We are from Canada.

My question is, if i bought an iPhone today at an Apple Store in the states, is it possible with the current firmware to hack it so he can use it without activating an at&t plan, would he be able to put in a Rogers Sim, how easy would this be,

Sorry for my lack of knowledge but we're hoping to get our son one for his birthday and just want to know if there's anyway he'll be able to use it on this side of the border

thanks for the help

It is not only possible, it is easy. Just have him get ZiPhone- takes all of 3 minutes. Plus, we are all here to help!

Perhaps someone can suggest the ideal plan for Edge and the other Rogers related information.

i believe that for edge he can just find the apn settings foe edge on Rogers and enter them in settings>general>network>edge. there was a post on this before and it had all apn settings for all carriers networks. if i can find it ill post it

edit - heres the website with the apn information http://www.taniwha.org.uk/gprs.html
