So, yesterday I decided to finally upgrade my late '06 macbook: 320gb hd, the apple box set (Snow Leopard, iWork/iLife 09), and 4gb ram under the impression that 3.3gb was the max on this generation of macbook. As it turns out I now allegedly am using all 4gb. After a quick search this seems pretty weird. Does anyone know what's up with this?

Is over 3.3 GB actually being used? Check Activity Monitor to see if the machine is actually able to make use of it, even if it shows up as being present.

That explains it...

Thanks, that clears it up, in activity monitor it's only using 3gb.
