When visiting MR.com via Firefox on Windows 7, several dozen pop-ups appear with what appear to be Twitter information and random numbers. Have to force quit/end task to get rid of them.

Same, i also have to force quit i only got here because I went directly to the forums and bypassed the home page

I just got the same thing going to Engadget, on Windows/FF. Strange.

Looks like Twitter's taking the piss :p?

Same on Firefox. Could be a bug due to the new Tweet button functionality that Twitter released?

I'm getting these Twitter popups too, on Firefox 3.6.8 but not on Safari 5.0. Had to Force-Quit my Firefox too. Tried it several times in the last few minutes. Very strange.

Me too. Very annoying, and MR should do something about it. they have been hijacked...

My guess would be someone at Twitter was doing some code debugging using the alert function to put up some information. Likely very temporary. I have Twitter blocked so I don't have any issues.

How do you block twitter, because their **** ruining my browsing on a bunch if sites is kind of pissing me off.

Funny thing is I started getting those on gizmodo. While I'm not here to post feedback with regard to giz, its too much of a coincidence that the same exact type of pop started hitting them too. Odd. It didn't occur on their main page but on the linked articles.
