Upgraded to snow leopard on my MBP a couple days ago, but I just noticed this yesterday, when I was on ebay. Basically, most links I see (things like your username, torrent sites) appear as the letter A that is in a box. If the link says "1080P" Then there will be 5 of the A's that are boxed. I really have no clue what the hell this is, and would really appreciate any info.

Sounds like a font-related problem. Open up Font Book - if it identifies any corrupt fonts, disable them.
