VHS to digital: recommendation needed

Whats the best software for my Mac, for VHS to digital conversion? I live in the UK so obviously it needs to be available over here. Thanks in advance.

This gentleman uses an composite to hdmi "upscaler", fed into a hdmi capture device. The results speak for themselves-- although who knows? PAL conversion might be lacking.
