Mac noob here. I have already imported all of my mini DV movies, iMovie worked great. But I have a bunch of movies recorded with an old VHS-C recorder, it doesn't have a firewire port. Anyone have any ideas how I can get these movies imported? Sorry if this is a stupid question with an obvious answer, but I'm new to all of this having just steppped out of the darkness of M$ and into the Mac sunshine.😀

Or pay someone to do it. If its just a few tapes, you're only talking $20 per tape or so.
Notice the OP said "bunch of movies".

manglerbmx gave you the best bet.

What model DV Cam do you have. You may be able to plug your old VHS-C camcorder into it via an A/V cable and transfer the footage through the DV Cam to the computer via firewire.

Or just record to the DV Cam and then transfer to the computer. (I've done both at the same time.) Then you have a DV Backup of your old footage.

I know, that could take a while, but it's that or pay someone or buy another piece of hardware. Which do you have more of, time or money?
