Widgy is one of my favorite apps, second only to Overcast.

I've downloaded widely but I honestly can't get y head around it. Seems way to complex. I even tried some of the existing widgets e.g. a step counter and it won't update.

Trying to create my own seems like a total nightmare.
Love the idea but can't get started...

My Lock Screen. I used Widgy to create a couple of widgets, Spotify and Apple Music launchers.

I really like the Always On Display, Show Notifications feature. Available if you installed iOS 16.2 - Rather than turning ON the display to see if there any notification, you just glance at it. Love it!

Why do I have to choose a new wallpaper just to customize my lock screen and add widgets?
Is it asking you to enter jiggle mode and take a screenshot of the blank screen? You need to tell it what wallpaper you are using so that it can read the pattern under the widget and dynamically add that to the widget background to simulate transparency.

had To check the title bar, for moment thought I’d stumbled onto insecure ally and validation street on some sub Reddit trash what with all those thirsty looking screenshots.

It’s my default wallpaper. And in this case, why have tell it anything more than to use the existing/currently selected wallpaper? (No jiggle mode. It’s just new wallpaper or bust.) I’ll hold for 16.2 to see if it’s a little more user-friendly.

I find it completely incomprehensible. Totally, completely, absolutely, utterly incomrehensible.

By the way I have since added Home to that widget — if you have something you use often but not “Home Screen Often” that can be a good spot to use it.
