Video Camera that plays nice with Mac?

Currently I have a JVC everio camcorder that records in .MOD format. I know there are all sorts of hoops I can jump through to convert the video, but it is a huge pain. What camera can I buy that plays nicely with Mac and IMovie? If not s specific camera then how about a format?

You can enter "Camcorder" in the first drop down, and then a brand in the second drop down and see which camcorders are supported. But basically any camera that records in H.264, MPEG2, MPEG4, or AVCHD should work.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've done that, and the funny thing is it says my current camcorder is compatible. Although it imports there is a terrible quality loss.
