Hey guys, I'm sorry for this extreme noob question, but I'm VERY new to the world of Mac. I just got an early 2009 model Mac Pro and am going to be using it for video editing. The problem is, I got my footage shot and went to capture using my firewire cable (as I'm used to doing) and there is no where to plug it in (0_o) What is the typical way for capturing video from a camera onto a MacPro?

I know it's simple but some help would be great.

Thanks very much

-Chris

It depends on the camera, but you seem to have a DV or HDV camcorder, which uses Firewire, a port the Mac Pro has too:

Therefore you need to get the appropriate Firewire 4-pin to 9-pin cable, the 9-pin port/plug being Firewire 800.

Wow - thanks so much for those pictures, that solved everything - I had no idea there were 9 pin firewire cables.

Thank you!
