Video captured using Quicktime Pro

Hello all,
I'm trying to figure out the best settings to capture video from a Cannon XL directly in Quicktime Pro. Will I need to capture as a DV stream or can I use H.264 right of the bat? thanks,

Experiment with it. H24 is best generally, unless you absolutely need the high quality footage from a DV stream.
